THE STORY BEHIND THIS ARTWORK:
Malkhut, the 10th sefirah (The Kingdom), is the materialization of everything that exists in the physical realm -the culmination of a spiritual process that descends from the subtle to the concrete. The tree represents life on Earth, with its roots firmly grounded in the now and the promise of growth reaching towards the sky.

I started this tree back in 2021, during my Art Therapy postgraduate. Back then, it represented me, being my own home and honoring my roots. I presented it for the class and left it like that for a long time. Years later, I came back to it; it asked to be given a new life and a new meaning.

This painting is a metaphor that represents growth, both internal and external; and it is a symbol of the connection between the divine and the earthly. Around its branches and roots, seven names of God emerge, projecting their energy onto the tree and the observer.

It also represents my family tree, my lineage, the invisible thread that connects generations and gives me life and form in the present time. Those who came before me, the paths they carved and the stories inscribed in the memory of my ancestors that live within me.

This work is both a recognition and a declaration: to honor my lineage, to give a place to those who walked the path that paved the way for mine; while also being able to discern what is truly mine, what belongs to my soul, and what is inherited and meant to be transformed.

To blossom is not merely to grow; it is to take what has been received, transcend it, and bear new fruit. In this kingdom, my existence is the synthesis of what was and what will be -a meeting point between the deep roots and the infinite sky.
